I bought my Zojirushi machine after a lot of searching on the web and reading reviews on Amazon. I had never heard of this brand before. I am replacing a Capresso that made unbelievably good coffee but would not stop leaking water all over the counter. The Zojirushi has nice styling and catches people's attention. But best of all, it makes good coffee because it brews it fairly quickly - not quite as fast as the Capresso but hey it doesn't leak! My only two issues with it are first - the cheap plastic construction and second the extra piece of plastic you must place on top of the caraffe to make it truly airtight. The lightweight plastics make this machine feel like a Mr. Coffee quality machine and causes you to wonder why you paid so much more for this machine (until you taste the brew!). My Stainless caraffe on the Capresso had a much more smartly designed top than this one (but this machine won't leak!). If you forget to place the extra cap on top after brewing, then you lose heat and air gets in too much. But, if you unwittingly place the cap on before brewing you end up with your fresh brew all over the kitchen counter instead of in your caraffe!! Overall, this is a good machine so far.
