Update 2/6/08: Two years later we are still pretty satisfied with this coffee maker. It hasn't developed any problems, but it does seem to cool down a little bit faster than when we first got it. Still keeps coffee warm past lunchtime! A friend of mine bought this same coffee maker from Amazon around the same time and she agrees, still working very well. I am still very happy with this purchase.
Original Review 12/28/05: We bought this coffee maker to replace our Krups Aroma Control 10-Cup Thermal Coffee Maker that we bought in late 2001. While that coffee maker has served us pretty well, it simply cannot keep coffee hot longer than three hours. Preheating the carafe might keep the coffee warm another half hour, but ulimately we were frustrated with coffee that was only hot enough to drink for a short amount of time.
We got this coffee maker over Christmas 2005 and so far we have been pretty pleased. We haven't experienced any of the leaking issues some of the other reviewers described and we've found that this pot does stay hotter longer. I gave it 4 stars because of the filter issue - the filter holder is too small for a #4 gold filter (which Amazon recommends - beware), but a paper #4 filter works on the model we received. Overall, I think this is a very good coffee maker that will please most coffee drinkers - looks very sharp and brews excellent coffee.
