Best coffee maker I've ever owned. Granted, my previous coffee makers have been Gevali cheapees. Good enough for the in-laws on Thanksgiving but not high quality. I usually use the stand over the sink with the kettles and cone method. OK, and I mistakenly thought the best way, until I bought this maker.
Previously I bought the Zojirushi bread machine and was mightily impressed. So I decided on the Zojirushi after reading all the reviews. No problems.
A few hints. Ice cold water will resulte in slightly less hot coffee. Don't ask me why or how I figured this out. Pre-heat the carafe with hot water (just don't forget to empty it). Wetting the filter is always a good idea. It uses #4 filters (not #3 as mistakenly described in manual). Careful in positioning the pot under the spout. The cap for the carafe doesn't fall off (although is looks like it does). The amount of coffee reccomended is too much for our taste. Experiment.
