Well it has been a year since I received my Zoji and I'm happy to report that I'm happy :).
This maker has worked flawlessly everyday and keeps the contents hot for at least 3 to 4 hours.
I have used all the features and never a problem.
However I did have a problem with the #4 paper filters being a bit large. To overcome this I purchased a Krups gold-tone filter. I don't have the model number, but it is the only Krups that Bed Bath & Beyond sells and you can see it online. Do not buy another brand thinking it will work, I already did that for you. Now, for the Krups to work you will need to remove the Zoji insert in the grounds holder.
As another reviewer stated about the lid being tight, this is true, but you do not need to apply a lot of pressure to tighten it, just snug it and if it does become tight (since everything expands as it is warmed) simply place the carafe on the countertop, press down on the lid while turning and it loosens easily.
I have owned countless coffee makers and this one has it all. One feature a lot of people overlook is the construction of the carafe. Zoji is stainless inside and out where many others are glass on the inside. Glass does not keep coffee warm as long and will break if you accidentally drop it. This is a quality product, easy and straightforward to use and brews quite fast too. Compliment this maker with a quality grinder and you too will have excellent coffee. I use a DeLonghi burr grinder model DCG59.
Update: I recently purchased a gizmo that calculates electricity usage and found out that it cost 5 cents to brew a pot and since it shuts off after brewing that's it a nickel for a pot of coffee.Get more detail about Zojirushi EC-BD15 Fresh Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker.
