I've had this coffee maker for more than 2 and a half years now. I use it in my office on a daily basis and it's held up quite well so far. I use it with at Braum gold filter. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee warm, and I don't get the burnt smell or taste in the coffee that can come from pots that keep the coffee warm with a heating element. A co-worker actually stopped making coffee with his own coffee maker and started using mine because he preferred the coffee it produces. I use is along with a Capresso 560.01 Infinity Burr Grinder, which also works very well. They make a great combination. One thing to note, if you like your coffee piping hot, this is not the coffee maker for you. It's generally hot enough if you drink your coffee black, but if you add cream and sugar, the temperature usually drops because of the added ingredients, and may not be hot enough for some. For me, it's ok because I like to start drinking my coffee right away; but if you like to wait for the temperature to drop just to your liking, or if you just like it really hot, it may not produce hot enough coffee for you. I'm tempted to try this, but until someone can convince me that it makes the coffee hotter than your typical drip system, I think I'll stick with the percolator.
