Purchase Zojirushi EC-BD15 Fresh Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker

I gave this coffee maker a 3-star rating, although price adjusted I would give it 3 1/2 stars. There are three reasons it falls short for me. One is the relative clunkiness of the pre-brewing set-up process. The water feed must be shifted back to place a gold filter basket in place and then returned to the brewing posiiton. The second is the lack of a 1-4 cup setting. This is the feature which slows down the rate of water flowing during brewing so small batches don't come out too thin. The third reason is a slightly cheap feel to the unit. In the end, I sent this one back and ate the cost of the return because I couldn't face having to use it for several years. I wound up buying the Capresso, which is not without its flaws and is quite pricey. But for my taste, it's makes better coffee and is a better value.

This coffeemaker replaced a Krups thermal carafe coffee maker that I used almost daily for 14 years. Like many people reviewing today's choices of thermal carafe coffee makers, if the exact Krups model were available today, I would have bought that.

I much prefer the thermal carafe approach to a glass-pot-with-hot-plate design, especially since around my house we drink coffee at different times. I find the quality of the coffee after 10-15 minutes is far better than when it cooks on a heating element in a glass pot. The coffee stays warm enough for my taste for hours, especially if you swish hot water around in the carafe to warm it up before brewing.

Looking at some of the other reviews, I wonder if those unhappy with the temperature of their coffee are people who enjoy their brew at "see-you-in-court" scalding hot levels. If that's you, either don't buy a thermal carafe model or make sure you have a microwave handy to warm your cup of coffee up before drinking.Get more detail about Zojirushi EC-BD15 Fresh Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker.
