We just bought the Zojirushi EC-BD15 Coffee Maker. I must say, we were very skeptical of a JAPANESE brand! (Both my husband and I are European, and we appreciate a good cup of coffee!) But this product appeared on a List compiled by someone who seemed like a real coffee wonk, so we decided to go for it. It's a good product, makes a very respectable cup'o'joe, and, although deceptively light, the thermal carafe actually does keep the coffee warm for a long time. Only downside: as some others have noted, the top on the carafe is oddly difficult to open; they need to redesign it.
