I purchased because of the many positive reviews. However, I agree with those who are unhappy with the product. The coffee maker quit brewing coffee on the second day. It steamed and just died. The #4 filter basket holds too few grounds for a 10-cup unit, unless one likes weak coffee. I expected Japanese quality, not a cheaply made appliance from China. Lastly, the thermal carafe, because of its design, is incapable of keeping coffee hot.
