The Pros: nice looking appliance, easy to set up, easy to use, easy to clean. The filter basket is great - easy to lift out, easy to clean. No crevices or hard to reach areas where build-up can occur. It makes for a purer brew and eliminates the "mystery". I like the water tank and the "shower head" - it's impossible to put it in the wrong place, which would result in water being everywhere but in the pot.
The Cons: it's hard to get used to brewing into a thermal carafe because I previously made the coffee into a glass pot and poured it into a separate thermal carafe. Now I have to wait to make the new batch because the carafe still has coffee in it. Not an issue if you are accustomed to keeping the coffee in the pot till you drink it. Also, the coffee does not seem to be as strong or stay as hot. I am using more coffee grounds per cup - there is no adjustment for the brew strength - and it seems I need to reheat my cup in the microwave (yuck) more than I did before.
