The Zojirushi coffee maker makes delicious coffee, because it never cooks the grounds or the coffee. The water isn't 212 when it hits the ground coffee, and there is no hot plate to burn the coffee as it drips or sits. The insulated, stainless steel carafe keeps the brew nice and warm. The coffee is ready in ten minutes after you push the button. When it finishes I rush to twist the carafe top open to the pour position to let steam out and I leave it open, believing that steam also cooks the coffee. This coffee tastes better than using the Melitta method, because with the Melitta set up, I tend to let the water boil before pouring. Boiling water cooks the coffee. Be sure to use fresh, good smelling beans! I haven't seen any negatives about this pot. Even the #4 filter isn't a problem, I just wet it and push it down a little bit.
