EDIT: 4/26/09: would review as 3 stars now. Well, the new lid started sucking in air today. Since the lid is hollow, it will get a pressure differential, resulting in air exiting the carafe lid through any sort of manufacturing defect. Then when it cools, it will suck the expelled air back in, along with any liquid near the hole, resulting in liquid in the carafe lid. The replaced lid is now doing the same thing the original lid did. I would now stay away from this brand. I will be making a customer service request again, will followup with any positive results.
This coffee maker is great. Keeps coffee hot as expected.
But the carafe screw lid on was leaking. When you finished and rinsed it out, I noticed that there was liquid trapped inside the lid. I went to their web site, simply emailed describing the problem, and I received a new lid about a week later for free. I did not have the 10$ shipping problem a prior poster had.
Based on that and the fact that it brews hot coffee, I have no issues with this.
